reports </p> <p>Live Nation is responding to the lawsuit filed by a man who attended one of their concerts.  The suit alleges that during a 2008 taping of “Making the Band,” Kevin Faraday was hit in the stomach with a microphone.  </p> <a name='more'></a> <p>Faraday sued everyone involved, including MTV, Diddy and Live Nation.  Live Nation is making it clear that they had nothing to do with the incident.  In New York Supreme Court, they stated that they were not involved in the injuries suffered by Faraday at the Hammerstein Ballroom. </p> <p>Faraday is alleging that during the taping, a man ran onto stage, grabbed a microphone and hit him in the stomach with it.  You have to wonder if the suit would have  been filed if these people didn’t happen to have millions of dollars in their signed a major deal with Pepsi to distribute his energy drink.   The rapper’s drink, called “Street King,” was created to raise funds to feed hungry children in African (and also to make a profit, we’re sure).  </p> <p>The rapper tweeted about the deal this week:  "I did a deal with pepsi to distribute streetking its gonna be every were (sic) buy a bottle a feed some one in need."</p> <p>50 Cent has been highly entrepreneurial over the years.  In 2008, he created a line of condoms called “Magic Stick,” and in 2007, he sold his stake in a vitamin water company co-owned with Glaceau </p> <p>Hip Hop icon Chuck D has filed a $100 million dollar class action lawsuit against the Universal Music Group.  The suit alleges that the company has bilked its artists of millions with faulty digital licensing. </p> <a name='more'></a> <p>Chuck D (whose real name is Carlton Douglas Ridenhour) filed the suit in US District Court in Northern California this week.   He argues that artists and producers are entitled to 50 percent of the net receipts from digital downloads and ringtones. </p> <p>The suit alleges that the company has treated these sales as sales of physical product.  This gives a much lower royalty rate to the artist, and also charges the artist for things like packaging and containers, which don’t even exist for digital content. </p> <p>Under the current system, artists receive $80.33 for every 1,000 downloads.  The suit argues that the number should be $315.85 per 1,000.   For ringtones, artists currently receive $49.89 per 1,000, but the plaintiffs argue
