According to 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, is the address of the building in which Kool Herc hosted his first parties along with his sister Cindy. This building also eventually lead to the birth of Hip-Hop music in the early 1970’s. However, after a two-year battle to purchase the building and preserve it's legacy and keep the rent down for the current residents. The building was sold to a new owner last week for $7 million dollars.
