C-Murder 2nd Trial Date Set

According to the Associated Press, a second trial has been set for January 12, 2009. However, the first judge Sassone will not preside over the trial, after losing re-election as 24th Judicial District Court in Louisiana. Her successor, Ellen Kovach, has also made it clear that she as well will not be a part of the murder trial due to her open criticism of Sassone during her campaign for election, where she specifically criticized the decisions of the Miller trial.

C-Murder, was charged for second-degree murder and convicted in 2003 after fatally shooting 16-year-old Steve Thomas at a Louisiana night club on January 12, 2002. The conviction was eventually overturned by State Judge Martha Sassone. Sassone then granted Miller a second trial, though at the time there was no decision on when that trial would occur.

C-Murder Not Allowed to Travel

Until the retrial due to his murder case C-Murder is on house arrest. Therefore he was not allowed the chance to go to Jackson, Mississippi for a rally that was sponsored by his company TRU Publishing.

C-Murder Making Moves

I really respect the fact the rapper C-Murder has been trying to turn his life around as well as peoples perception of him. While waiting for his June 9th, retrial for allegedly shooting and killing a 16-year-old begins. He's finding ways to continue to build on his successes, C-Murder announced that he has signed Akon to a book deal with TRU Publishing. Akon’s new book will be titled Thug Politics it is the second release from company, Jacki-O’s Grown and Gangsta was the first release.
