Def Jam Executive VP Shakir Stewart committs Suicide

Def Jam executive vice president Shakir Stewart committed suicide today (Nov. 1) in New York, according to sources. No other details were available. Shakir Stewart has signed artists such as Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and newcomer Karina Pasian. Stewart became Executive Vice-President of Def Jam Recordings replacing the departed Jay-Z.

BREAKING NEWS: Jennifer Hudson’s Mother & Brother Found Murdered

Breaking news: Jennifer Hudson is currently on her way back to Chicago. According various reports both Jennifer’s mother Darnell Hudson and brother Jason Hudson were killed by gunshot. Police say the believe the disturbance may be due a a domestic violence depute. Police are also being reporting that Jennifer’s nephew, is also missing and that Jennifer’s sister’s car was stolen.

UPDATE: A search is under way for Jennifer’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, who is missing, according to sources. Police are searching for an SUV, that was seen in the area, a 1994 white Suburban, Illinois license plate number X584859. Dr. Dre Buries His Son

Dr Dre’s son Andre Young Jr was buried over the weekend. Andre was found dead at his home in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles last week. According to reports more than 200 mourners turned out to pay their respects to Dre's son. An autopsy failed to establish a cause of death but police have ruled out any foul play or drugs. Medical examiners are still awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

Spragga Benz Son Killed By Police

Carlton Grant Jr., the 17-year-old son of dancehall artist Spragga Benz, was shot and killed by local police in Kingston, Jamaica on Sunday. According to the police they approached Grant and a friend on bikes, but one of the men starting firing at them. The police said they returned fire and the men fled. When they searched the area; they found Grant Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds and in possession of a .45 semi automatic pistol. Grant Jr. was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

RIP:Jerry Wexler

To those of you who are not familiar with Jerry Wexler, he was the first man to used the term rhythm and blues to describe popular music. He died on Friday of congestive heart failure at his home in Sarasota, Fla. He was 91. (He contributed a lot to black Music. Goggle him!)

RIP: Isaac Hayes Dies at Age 65

Isaac Hayes, died Sunday afternoon after he collapsed near a treadmill, authorities said. He was 65. And the cause of death is unknown.
